IBSC Freshman Welcome Party Under the IBSC
On September 19, 2024, the International Bachelor’s Program in Strategic Communication (IBSC), under the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, held a grand welcome party on campus for its new students. The event aimed to help freshmen quickly integrate into the department and inspire their potential in future academic and international affairs. The event was meticulously organized by the IBSC Student Association, which invited the department chair and several instructors to deliver speeches, providing valuable encouragement and advice to the new students.
The evening began with an opening speech by the department chair, Chen Jing-Fu, who highlighted the uniqueness of the IBSC curriculum and the importance of a global perspective. He pointed out that the program is committed to cultivating professionals skilled in "Strategic Communication" and emphasized the shared goals of "Study Abroad in Taiwan; Leap Forward to the World" and "Comprehensive Internationalization," which are long-term objectives that IBSC strives to achieve.
In their speeches, the instructors shared their practical experiences in the field of international business, encouraging the freshmen to face challenges bravely and urging them to actively participate in both academic and social activities. These experiences would help them broaden their international perspectives and foster both personal and collective growth.
During the event, the Student Association prepared a variety of refreshments for the new students to enjoy and organized several interactive activities that allowed them to communicate and get to know each other in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. Through these activities, students not only gained insight into the development direction of the department but also began to build friendships and lay the foundation for academic collaboration.
The event concluded successfully, with the freshmen expressing their excitement about their upcoming studies at IBSC and their determination to make the most of the next four years in their academic journey.
